Mixed media sculpture

Consist of wood, polymer clays, fabric, metal, stone, found objects and acrylic colors. After a concept sketch is completed, construction begins on the main structure of the piece (usually wood). Original clay components are sculpted and cured and applied to wooden structure with wood or metal pins and/or epoxy resins. Fabrics and found objects may be added as well as additional wood trim. Pieces are then painted as a whole and finished with acrylic sealers. Each mixed media piece is an original.

Plaster casts

Originals are fully sculpted in modeling clay. Latex or urethane rubber molds are created. After casting, oxides and stains are applied, followed by satin acrylic sealers. Some are limited editions and are clearly marked as such. Plaster casts are not durable enough to be displayed out of doors. Sun and rain will fade and wash color out and freezing weather can cause splaying. Since the pieces are relatively inexpensive, many people have displayed them out of doors and don't mind the damage. Some say it increases the character of the piece.

Prints

Consist of two printing processes. The original design is created on the computer using PhotoShop. Original and royalty free stock photographs and clip art are manipulated to create the desired effect. These are laser printed in black and white on archival stock. Each print is then hand stenciled with acrylic color. Each print uses at least four stencils hand cut from transparency film. Since the color application is done by hand, each print will have a unique quality and some color variation. Prints are limited to 200 per edition.

Ornaments

Holiday and decorative ornaments are hand sculpted from polymer clays and hand painted with acrylic color. Each ornament is a unique piece unless otherwise noted. Limited availability.
